DOUBLET Force-Feeds Unfortunate Model in Comedic SS20 Campaign

Don’t try this at home.

Besides winning the LVMH prize back in 2018 and continuing to roll out masterfully cut garments, DOUBLET has been equally known for its humorous approach to fashion, but the label hasn’t quite put out a campaign as belly-clenching as its latest one. Highlighting the oversized fit of its new Spring/Summer 2020 leather biker jacket, the label has decided to fit the piece with two people inside, reeling a clip where the person behind force-feeds the one in front. The unfortunate victim is steered by the girl behind, where only she is allowed to use hands for the front-facing person.

The video is an ode to the intro of a popular Japanese variety show from 1975, kicking off the clip with funky background music as the opening credits roll. The two people shuffle to the fridge to grab a juicy red tomato. Not one second is wasted, as an assembly of food gets thrust towards his face the moment they sit down, starting with the tomato. It gets washed down with a glass of milk, which, of course, seconds later gets poured over his eyes. Then, a handful of raw meat to the face, and then back to the tomato they were working on. Some slack, however, is given, where his face is wiped with thick, dry newspaper. He finishes the rest of the milk next and then gets fed half a tube of mustard, followed by a ton of mayo, cake, wasabi, processed sausage, oreos and chips, topped off, finally, by a nice gooey lump of raw meat that gets massaged over his face — the perfect finish to the hilarious, gag-inducing oeuvre.

Scroll above for a look at DOUBLET’s latest SS20 campaign, dubbed “Marionette Pattern Clothes.”
