Canada Goose Teams With Polar Bears International on Arctic-Themed BE@RBRICK
A portion of the proceeds will support the conservation of polar bears.
After teaming up with Y/Project on an avant-garde outerwear collaboration for Fall/Winter 2020, Canada Goose has now linked up with MEDICOM TOY’s BE@RBRICK and Polar Bears International (PBI) on an arctic-themed figurine to help support the environment. Offered in two options — a 1000% size and a set with both 400% and 100% specs — the limited-edition toy will benefit PBI’s mission to conserve polar bears by raising awareness about the pressing issue and providing a portion of proceeds from its sales to the nonprofit organization.
The design of the BE@RBRICK was inspired by the wildlife documentary Bare Existence, which shares a closer look at how climate changes are impacting polar bears. Half of the figurine is featured in pure white as a nod to the animals’ snowy environment, while the other side has been wrapped with a mirror as a means of reflecting “the important link between the survival of wild polar bears and our responsibility to help preserve their habitat for future generations.” The front is then stamped with an emblem that spotlights the phrase “PBI AMBASSADOR OF THE ARCTIC,” and the style is finished off with a Canada Goose logo across the back.
Priced at $250 CAD (approximately $200 USD) for the 100% + 400% edition and $995 CAD (approx. $750 USD) for the 1000%, the Canada Goose PBI BE@RBRICK releases on February 27 in commemoration of International Polar Bear Day. $25 CAD from the sale of the 400% + 100% set will be donated to PBI, while $50 CAD will be donated for each 1000% size.
The capsule will be available at Canada Goose’s website and retail shops, as well as at HBX’s webstore.
