The NMD R1 is no doubt one of the most versatile silhouettes currently in adidas‘ inventory, spawning endless variations from collabs to bold graphic prints to simple color mixes. Now, taking a step back from the louder designs, the Three Stripes is revisiting the shoe’s original colors, updating them with a metallic touch.

The upper is built entirely in a “Cloud White” tone, offering a clean and pristine look with a dimension of depth offered via pale gray details such as the striped logo on the laterals, the adidas Original logo on the tongue, and the stitched heel counter. A dash of color comes in the form of two colored NMD blocks on the midsole, painted in a vibrant “Lush Blue” and “Lush Red,” a colorway harkening back to the silhouettes heritage. Tying the entire sneaker together with a modern twist is the gold colored BOOST midsole, wrapped with a black outsole, bringing a sharp contrast to the otherwise understated aesthetic of the shoe.

For those interested, adidas’ latest gold-overlaid NMD R1 is now available over on its website, retailing for $130 USD. Head over to grab yours now.

Elsewhere in sneakers, ASICS is bringing back the GEL-Kayano 5 RE.
