Vetements and Reebok‘s partnership has brought many daring sneakers such as its take on the Instapump Fury and the collaborative Spike Runner 400, but its latest sneaker — a Spike Runner 200 — just wants you to know who made it.
Whereas previous collaborative shoes often found themselves covered in graffiti or bold colors, this new season pair sports a simple black colorway alongside white logo branding. Although this seems unassuming, the branding is artisanal and hand-painted onto each shoe — which might be the only redeeming thing to justify the shoe’s astronomical price.
As with previous pairs, this new Spike Runner 200 looks to Reebok’s Premier Running line that dominated the world of performance sneakers between 2003 to 2011. A mesh upper is overlayed with rubber trims that make up components such as the toe and heel, as well as the subtle Reebok branding on the mid-panels that appear in the form of its signature motif.
The hand-painted “VETEMENTS” logo sits on top of this, while a black DMX Ride sole unit rounds out the pair alongside further Vetetements branding on the tongue.
Vetements’ Spike Runner 200, complete with the artisanal hand-painted logo, retails for $1,007 USD. Take a look at the sneaker above, and pick up a pair from MatchesFashion.com now.
