There’s no question 2020 has been a tough year for most people, but Ryan Reynolds and Match.com are hoping you can look back on it at least with a small chuckle while you hope for a better 2021 — perhaps by finding the love of your life — with a new ad telling the love story between 2020 and none other than Satan himself.

Produced by Reynold’s Maximum Effort, the clip follows a bored Satan lounging around in Hell when he suddenly receives a match on his phone. Traveling to Earth, he discovers his new love: a woman named 2020. The two go on a series of dates doing everything from starting dumpster fires to stealing toilet paper before watching asteroids descend upon the Earth as they recount how much they loved this year and hope that it would never end. As a little added bonus for the Taylor Swift fans out there, the hilarious ad also offers a preview for Taylor Swift’s re-recorded “Love Story.”

For more entertainment news, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci join Martin Scorsese for a roundtable discussion in the lead up to The Irishman.
