Nike LeBron 8 Retro Gets a Lakers-Inspired Makeover
A fitting tribute to the 2019-2020 NBA Champions.

The 2020-2021 NBA season is commencing later this month, and so the Swoosh imprint is appropriately preparing LeBron James for his 18th year in the Association by fashioning the Nike LeBron 8 in a Los Angeles Lakers-influenced colorway. This marks the silhouette’s latest official unveiling since its regal “Gym Red” makeup was uncovered towards the tail end of October 2020.
Primarily hued in “Court Purple”, this variation is engineered with blend of tumbled leather paneling and Flywire synthetics that form its base layer, along with glossy-finished tongues tonally-embossed with James’ customary lion logo. Adjacent to this, “University Gold” trimming latches onto the Swooshes, sock liners, heel windows and throat overlays, while the shoe strings offset with bright white. Moreover, subtle notes of stark black rest along the medial forefoot’s Swooshes to best translate the accents found on the 2019-2020 NBA champions’ away uniforms.
Downstairs, the sole unit bolstered with full length Air Max cushioning is executed with gold pistons and rounded out with purple treading.
An official release date for these LeBron sneakers has yet to be confirmed, but you expect these to likely drop via Nike’s web store and through select retailers before 2020 comes to a close.
For other sneaker-related news, the Stussy x Nike Air Force 1 Low collection has received a rumored release date.
