Kid Cudi and adidas Originals to Launch New Vadawam 326 Silhouette Inspired by Sci-Fi

On the precipice of launching his newest musical project Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, Kid Cudi is also drawing our gaze to his partnership with the Three Stripes to unveil their next chapter of footwear: the Kid Cudi x adidas Originals Vadawam 326. News of the sneaker launch surfaces shortly after the globally renowned artist was reported to be working on producing and starring in a film adaptation of Brandon Taylor’s semi-autobiographical novel, Real Life.

For this forthcoming collaboration, the Cleveland native turned to four key muses for inspiration: Sci-Fi, NASA, retro basketball silhouettes from the 90’s and his daughter Vama, the latter of which serves as the inspiration for the silhouette’s moniker. What separates this particular offering from his  Bill & Ted’s adidas Artillery Hi project that released mid-November is that this piece is his own unique design built from the ground up.

Mid-profile in stature, the model blends together elements from both the past and the future. Base portions are built with that of smooth leather materials, and sit adjacent to protective overlays that wrap around the lateral heels and mid-foot windows executed with hairy suede textures. Down the throat, you’ll find a trio of straps that provide wearers with fashion-forward aesthetic and ample lockdown feel.

Additional embellishments arrive by way of “326” — a nod to his daughter’s birthday — which is printed out in digital font near the ankles, as well as the official Kid Cudi x adidas insignia debossed into the heels.

Bottom pieces are presented with a retro hoops-shoe build, and arrive loaded with Torsion cushioning for a cloud-like ride.

Two colorways including a Core Black/Night Grey/Solar Pink and a White/Ecru Tint/Easy Yellow will be launching globally via adidas and Foot Locker on December 17th for $180 USD a pop.
