Baltic Debuts Its First-Ever Aquascaphe GMT
A delightful addition to its diver lineup.

After much anticipation among microbrand enthusiasts, French watchmaker Baltic has finally debuted its Aquascaphe GMT, the brand’s first-ever dual timezone model.
Falling under its vintage-inspired diver line, the new GMT retains much of the midcentury design sensibilities of the traditional Aquascaphe lineup. Its 316L stainless steel case measures in at a wrist-friendly 39mm in diameter and stand only 12mm thick including the double-domed sapphire crystal. Sitting underneath the glass is a glossy black dial with symmetrical triangular markings at 3 and 9 o’clock, a date window down at 6 0’clock, and a numeral index at 12 o’clock.
A colored fourth hand then works with the 24-hour bidirectional rotating bezel to provide a reading for a second timezone, adding new functionality to the previously single-timezone collection. Completing the timepiece is a traditional “beads of rice” bracelet, keeping in line with its retro aesthetic.
For those interested, Baltic’s new Aquascaphe GMT is now available over on its website for €921 EUR (roughly $1,110 USD) with three two-tone colors to choose from: navy and turquoise, navy and orange, and navy and gray.
Elsewhere in watches, HODINKEE has joined Swatch to create a Sistem51 inspired by the 1990 Swatch GX407 Stirling Rush.
