HODINKEE Joins Swatch for GX407 Stirling Rush-Inspired Sistem51 Generation 1990
The fifth collaboration between the ‘Dink and Swatch.
HODINKEE has just released its fifth collaboration with Swatch in the form of a Forest Green/Navy Blue Sistem51 Generation 1990 watch. The watch was inspired by the 1990 Swatch GX407 Stirling Rush which saw the unique incorporation of half Roman and half Arabic numerals in what is known as a California dial.
Thin striking lime green hands combined with pale pink indexes give the watch an energetic demeanor while the proportions of the hands compared to the large, clear-cut numerals and framed dial (afforded by the color blocking of the Forest Green case and stark jump to the navy blue textured dial) give the dial an almost bubble-like appearance that simply just pops.
While this does offer a similarly minimal design as loved in past HODINKEE x Swatch collabs, the added color and playfulness from the California dial is sure to win those that are looking for something a little more “different” in their rotation of watches.
Priced at $170 USD, head over to HODINKEE Shop to pick one up now.
