SPOILER: HBO Drops Trailer of First 'Euphoria' Holiday Special
Entitled “Part 1: Rue.”
HBO has released the official trailer of the first Euphoria holiday special.
The teaser for “Part 1: Rue” picks up right where the first season left off. Played out to Otis Redding’s “Cigarettes and Coffee,” Rue Bennett (portrayed by Zendaya) sits alone in a diner and reflects on the events that just transpired. The end of its inaugural season saw her relapse and do drugs after her girlfriend, Jules (portrayed Hunter Schafer), left her on a train platform following their high school dance. Her introspection is broken when Ali (portrayed by Colman Domingo), a man she met during her Narcotics Anonymous meetings, sits across her and asks why she called him.
Euphoria made Zendaya the youngest actress to ever win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in September 2020. Production for the second season is reportedly set to resume in 2021 and this two-part special will help aid the lengthy gap between the two seasons.
Watch the trailer for “Part 1: Rue” above and stay tuned for more info on “Part 2.” The first Euphoria holiday special airs December 6 on HBO.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Disney+ added a new tribute to Chadwick Boseman in the Black Panther opening credits.
