Lotus Root Tassels and Ox Graphics Accessorize This Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Chinese New Year"
A celebratory Jumpman offering crafted for the Year of the Ox.

Much similar to the way it celebrated Chinese New Year in 2020, the Jumpman team is keeping that same energy in 2021 with this commemorative Air Jordan 1 Low OG colorway. This red envelope holiday-themed variation essentially makes use of the classic “Bred” AJ1 Low as its foundation, but elevates itself with culturally relevant accessories.
Diving right into its upper build, this makeup trades out the commonly-used smooth leather materials for full canvas, and follows “Bred”-inspired color-blocking by treating the toe boxes, Swooshes and heel overlays in “University Red” and the quarter panels, liners and toe tips in jet black. Wings logos stitched into the heels and the floral embroidery pronounced upon the toe boxes, Swooshes and heel overlays all feature gilded finishes. Adjacent to this, multi-colored cattle imagery disperses across the front and towards the mid-foot, in an effort honor 2021 which will commemorate the Year of the Ox. And if that wasn’t already decorative enough, the Beaverton-based sportswear imprint also furnishes the collars with lotus root tassels dyed with red rope and golden ends.
Downstairs, the midsole sees to a simple white exterior, while the treading is completely submerged in matching red.
It’s still unclear when these will officially drop via Nike SNKRS, but it’s likely that they’ll launch closer to the February 2021 festivities. Moreover, the pair will retail for $130 USD.
