UPDATE (November 19, 2020): Shortly after noting his eligibility for the 2020 NBA Draft as he has been in training camps and in talks with teams, Sheck Wes released a new track fittingly titled, “2020 DRAFT.” Accompanied by a music video, the visual sees Ronnie 2K, Zack Bia, John O, Moe Black, Mok Lite, Father Steve, Cian Moore, Kidthewiz and Sturdy Max taking part in the playful video. Sheck is seen in training mode, “showtiming” in subway cars, dribbling on the courts and more.

Really looking to change gears, the Cactus Jack rapper took to Instagram to note that he has entered the 2020 NBA Draft taking place tonight. The post shows a series of images of Sheck on the court and a caption that highlights his lifelong aspiration to play professional basketball.
“Damn… it’s really real , The 2020 NBA DRAFT , all my life I always wanted to follow my passion for music and basketball,” he wrote, before thanking the league for its support. “Playing basketball and going to play pro in the @nba is something that I always strived for. Tonight that dream comes true! I want to thank the @nba for their hard work with the growing the game and every team that gave me an opportunity to work out and talk with them. I also want to thank my team and my fans for always being there ! TUNE IN TO THE 2020 NBA DRAFT tonight!”
It is interesting to note that Sheck Wes played competitive basketball in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) youth league before his modeling and rap career took off. Additionally, it has been reported that the rapper is good friends with Orlando Magic star Mo Bamba, explaining the titling of Sheck’s breakthrough track “Mo Bamba.”
