Infiniti Ventures Into the Crossover Coupe Market With Its 268-Horsepower QX55
Taking over the old FX line.
Nissan’s luxury branch Infiniti is venturing into the crossover coupe market, unveiling the new QX55.
Now replacing the brand’s previous FX series, the new model receives a sportier and more aggressive exterior makeover, pairing more pronounced curves and edges with modern detailing such as its digital headlights and a front grille inspired by origami. Sitting under the hood is the automaker’s very own Variable Compression Turbo four-cylinder engine, capable of pushing out a decent 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque through an Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive setup.
With luxury at the forefront of its brand, Infiniti has also ensured the new QX55 provides a high level of comfort for both driver and passengers, wrapping most of the interior with leather upholstery. A dual-screen InTouch infotainment system supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the center console with another dual-screen configuration gives you easy access to all the car’s features. For those with a more refined taste in audio, you can also upgrade to a Bose audio system that utilizes a staggering 16 speakers positioned all throughout the cabin.
Available in three trims — Luxe, Essential and Sensory — the Infiniti QX55 crossover coupe will arrive in spring 2021.
