Balenciaga's Aoyama Store Reopens With Tokyo-Exclusive Wearables
The French luxury label shows love to its Japanese fans.

Balenciaga knows how to please its global audience. The luxury label often issues exclusive drops to select regions (not unlike creative director Demna Gvasalia’s efforts for Vetements), driving local hype for the special goods. Its latest release is a capsule bespoke for its Aoyama flagship store, which is reopening in Tokyo shortly.
Emblazoned with “BALENCIAGA TOKYO” verbiage and the store’s address, a sleek capsule of bags, accessories and a jacket are executed in versatile monochrome tones ideal for elevated street styling. A high-collared coaches jacket is this drop’s key piece, placing the unmistakable print directly on the rear. Following suit, a variety of shopping and shoulder bags feature the branding atop their white or black leather facades, granting graphic appeal to the otherwise minimalist items. Rounding up the range is a small leather key holder (bereft of the Tokyo denomination) and a shoulder bag wrapped with a logo-laden scarf.
