A posthumous album from the revered Phife Dawg is scheduled to drop in 2021.

The announcement was made by the living members of A Tribe Called Quest on social media as they celebrated what was supposed to be The Five-Foot Assassin’s 50th birthday. They and Phife’s estate commemorated his birthday and legacy with a pair of limited edition T-shirts along with the news that fans will be getting the new album “early next year.”

“Happy 50th Phife Dawg! To honor and celebrate his life and legacy, the estate on behalf of his family just released limited edition ‘Phife Forever’ tees,” ATCQ wrote on Twitter. “Also know that early next year you will all get to hear a new Phife album.”

The upcoming project will mark Phife’s second overall solo studio album following 2000’s Ventilation: Da LP and his first musical appearance since the final ATCQ album We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, which dropped just a few months after his death in 2016.

In case you missed it, OutKast and A Tribe Called Quest are set to battle it out on VERZUZ this season.
