Chevrolet Showcases Its eCrate Package With a Revamped 1977 K5 Blazer
Hope to start selling the package in 2021.

To give automotive fans a better understanding of its upcoming eCrate motor and battery package, Chevrolet has now installed it on one of its classic 1977 K5 Blazers, giving the iconic truck a sustainable bump in performance.
Taking only 30 days for the Chevrolet team to convert the retro truck, the eCrate package swaps out its original 175-horsepower 400 cubic-inch V8 with an electric Bolt EV motor, working in tandem with a Chevrolet Performance electronically-controlled four-speed automatic transmission to churn out a superior 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Powering this enhanced motor is a 60kWh, 400-volt battery pack installed in the rear of vehicle, complete with features like overcharge protection, battery temperature maintenance, and regenerative braking.
There’s currently no pricing information for Chevrolet’s eCrate package, but the American automaker hopes to make it available during the second half of 2021.
