Take a Closer Look at the Apple iPhone 12
Your first real hands-on inspection of the new flagship device series.

Shortly after the official unveil at Apple‘s “Hi, Speed” event and successful pre-order period, the arrival of the iPhone 12 series is almost upon us.
Starting October 23, both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available for customers to purchase online, Apple locations and authorized resellers. Serving as the baseline version of the flagship device, the iPhone 12 comes in five aluminum finishes, including “Blue,” “Green,” “Black,” “White” and “(PRODUCT)RED” with 64, 128 and 256GB options. While the higher-end iPhone 12 Pro comes in four stainless steel finishes, including “Graphite,” “Silver,” “Gold” and “Pacific Blue with 128, 256 and 512GB options.
Despite the color and storage size differences, the iPhone 12 series marks a return to a flat edge design reminiscent of Apple’s iPhone 4 release. Complementing the angular look is the new Super Retina XDR display which is 11 percent thinner, 15 percent smaller and 16 percent lighter than previous displays. On the back of the phone introduces Apple’s Ceramic Shield finish that is four times more resistant to damage when dropped. On the performance side, the iPhone 12 line is centered around Apple’s proprietary A14 Bionic chip constructed with a bleeding-edge 5-nanometer manufacturing process that fits 11.8 billion transistors for lower power consumption for a given amount of work. Additionally, the new series helps usher in both the use of 5G broadband cellular networks and MagSafe charging that falls in line with Apple’s environmental goals.
Starting at $799 USD, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available beginning October 23 online, at Apple locations and from authorized resellers. Pre-Orders for the accompanying iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will begin November 6 with availability beginning November 13.
For more tech news, Apple experts are now noting that the iPhone will never feature a USB-C port.
