The humble skate deck is a time-tested medium for artistic expression, whether they end up getting thrashed or not. Jawuan Mcgee’s An Outkast imprint explores that realm with pop culture flair, riffing on recognizable iconography with a range of hand-painted decks informed by disparate cultural touchstones.

The initial run of decks includes playful nods to the likes of Rick Owens, Miu Miu, Damien Hirst, street photographer Bill Cunningham and even Karl Lagerfeld‘s unforgettable Chanel rocketship runway. Each deck toys with vertical or horizontal layouts, rearranging its subjects’ proportions and obscuring faces, as it does with a recreation of a 1982 Basquiat interview and Dior’s controversial $860 USD “We Should All Be Feminists” T-shirt.

An Outkast’s goods are available at select boutiques, including RSVP Gallery’s web store.

Elsewhere, Versace introduced its own custom skate deck.
