'Westworld' Season 3 Premiere Date Finally Revealed in New Teaser Trailer
Filled with ominous clues.
Since being confirmed in April of 2019, HBO has finally revealed the premiere date for the highly-anticipated third season of Westworld.
After months of teasing, the series’ return date of March 15 was announced alongside a new teaser trailer. In the clip, a menagerie of dates and important information about Westworld‘s world, including political assassinations, world wars, and something called “System Initiated” are showcased. Most notably, the ominous moments teased spell apocalyptic disaster in the near future. Show co-creator Jonathan Nolan said at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con that the new season was partially inspired by Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, and will focus on a dystopian future.
According to an official press release from HBO, the third season is “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the birth of a new form of life on Earth.”
The show’s third season will see many of its stars return, including Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harris as the Man in Black, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, and Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs. Newcomers to join include Aaron Paul, whose new character Caleb was featured in the trailer shared at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con.
Westworld Season 3 is set to return on March 15 exclusively on HBO.
