Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack label have kicked off 2020 by debuting No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with JACKBOYS. The new project, which features the label’s mainstay artists of Sheck Wes, Don Toliver, and Chase B, released the Friday before the end of 2019, December 27. In the week following its release, the album accumulated 154,000 equivalent album sales, reports Billboard. That number includes 79,000 traditional album sales, with the bulk of those sales coming from merchandise/album bundles.
The seven-track album tapped Lil Baby and Rosalía for the remix of “Highest in the Room,” recruiting cameos from other artists such as Young Thug, Offset, Quavo, Pop Smoke, and more. The release was also accompanied by a variety of music videos and a short film co-directed by White Trash Tyler and Cactus Jack.
Other hip-hop artists to make the top 10 include Roddy Ricch’s and his Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial album at No. 1, Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding at No. 3, Young Thug and his So Much Fun at No. 1, and DaBaby at No. 8 with KIRK.
