NBA Honors Kobe Bryant With New 2020 All-Star Game Format
Along with an updated charity element.

Team captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will be choosing the organizations, with the winning team of the 1st to 3rd quarter earning $100,000 USD to $300,000 USD for their charity. The overall winning team will also receive $200,000 USD for its chosen community organization.
In addition to the charity element, the NBA will be imposing a major change to the 4th quarter of the All-Star Game. The game clock will be turned off upon entering the final quarter and a “Final Target Score” will be set. Its total is determined by taking the leading team’s score from the previous three quarters and adding 24 points in honor of Bryant‘s uniform number. Once the Final Target Score has been confirmed, the East and West will play through the untimed 4th quarter until either one reaches the set score. The league explained:
“For example: If the cumulative score of the first three quarters is 100-95, the Final Target Score would be set at 124 points. To win the NBA All-Star Game, the team with 100 points would need to score 24 points in the fourth quarter before the team with 95 points scores 29 points, and vice versa.”
Take a look at the complete list of changes below. The 2020 NBA All-Star Game takes place on February 16 at the United Center in Chicago.
