Apple TV+'s 'Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet' is a Comedic Take on Game Development
Produced by Rob McElhenney & Charlie Day of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.’
A new trailer for the newest Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet has arrived. Produced by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, the comedy show follows the developers of the fictional MMORPG Mythic Quest as they attempt to complete the Raven’s Banquet major expansion under the leadership of Iam Grimm (McElhenney), the team’s self-absorbed creative director. While Grimm desires to make Mythic Quest his legacy, his narcissistic attitude makes it difficult for the other developers to fully succeed.
Joining McElhenney is an ensemble cast of both movie and television veterans, including F. Murray Abraham of Amadeus and The Grand Budapest Hotel, Imani Hakim from Everybody Hates Chris, Danny Pudi of Community, Ashley Burch of Life is Strange and Charlotte Nicdao of Childhood’s End.
McElhenney announced the series during Ubisoft’s E3 2019 presentation and revealed that they had worked with Ubisoft to bring authenticity to the show. He continues to describe his character, calling him “gifted, driven and tirelessly dedicated to his game” and, like much of the creative directors the actor has met, “has an ego the size of a city bus.” He ends his presentation on a high note, claiming that Grimm’s infamous push as a creative director is only so because the gaming community deserves nothing but the best products.
