Take An Official Look at the Virgil Abloh x MCA Chicago x Cassius Hirst x Nike Air Force 1 '07
Limited to just 20 pairs.
19-year-old Cassius Hirst, son of acclaimed artist Damien Hirst, has teamed up alongside Virgil Abloh and MCA Chicago to produced a limited edition run of 20 Nike Air Force 1 ’07s. The shoe takes on the Virgil Abloh x MCA Chicago x Nike Air Force 1 ‘07, further customized via Hirst’s usual style — who has grown a reputation for customizing the iconic silhouette over the years, finding fans like A$AP Rocky, Offset, and Samuel Ross of A-COLD-WALL*. Pegged as an MCA-exclusive artist collaboration, the shoes were initially painted for the Church & State pop-up at the museum this past May after Abloh invited Hirst to “host one of the inaugural workshops at NikeLab’s Chicago Re-creation Center.”
Similar to that of an x-ray of a person’s foot, Hirst has blended the cracked silver Swooshes alongside a mixed color palette in-line with the base shoe’s unique color scheme. More details include various custom lace locks in red, white, and black, with various hints of red found at the heel of the shoe. To finish off the limited edition pairs, the insole of each pair has been emblazoned by a “1/20” on the insole, with a customized box accompanying the pairs. Due to the nature of the collaborative effort, each shoe features a one-of-a-kind look, making for a unique blend between art and streetwear.
You can take a look at one of the pair’s via the gallery above. The pairs are currently available via MCA Chicago’s storefront with a retail price of $3,000 USD.
