Stone Island has unveiled its latest technological garment advancement for Fall/Winter 2019 with the release of the Reflective Weave Ripstop-TC, which continues on from its recent FW19 collection drop.
The fabric has been used to create a selection of outerwear, trousers and accessories. Using twisted cotton nylon ripstop, Stone Island then weaves this together with a highly reflective thin tape that is produced in a resin bath that incorporates thousands of glass microspheres.
Stone Island then uses a specially-developed dye to color the garments without damaging the reflective properties, and has added design elements such as a Panno Jacquard removable lining to jackets for a standout finishing touch that references woolen military blankets. The collection stays true to the label’s aesthetic, adding the brand’s signature badge and utilizing colors such as grey alongside washed-out reds, yellows and oranges. Take a look at the collection above, see it in action below and keep an eye out for pieces to drop in the coming weeks via Stone Island stockists.
