Rick Owens & Veja Combine Sustainability, Avant-Garde Details & Minimalism on V-Knit Sneaker
Available in “Black,” “Dust” and “Beige.”
Rick Owens and Veja have debuted their collaborative V-Knit sneaker collection online and in stores today alongside an equally minimalist lookbook.
The avant-garde designer and contemporary French sneaker label have come together for Fall/Winter 2019 on a classic silhouette from Veja, which has been given a typically-Rick overhaul with “Black,” “Beige” and “Dust” colorways. The new take continues Veja’s sustainable ethos by making the shoes from 45% organic materials, namely a 3-D Knit upper made from recycled bottles.
Elsewhere, the collaborative sneaker sports a sole unit using 50% natural Brazilian leather, which forms half of the shoe’s L-FOAM cushioning technology. Collaborative detailing is kept to a minimum, utilizing two off-white hued stripes on the right heel to denote Owens’ participation. Veja branding is seen on the left-side heel, and the duo comes together with dual branding on the footbed.
