Phaidon returns with a new hardcover monograph dedicated to exploring famous examples of stone architecture. Aptly titled ‘Stone,’ the 224-page book features over 170 structures from prehistory to contemporary including the Neolithic Monuments, the Pyramids of Giza, as well as modernist master Marcel Breuer’s dynamic Met building in New York. Accompanying the seminal establishments are projects helmed by the world’s leading architects including Snøhetta’s angular Norwegian National Opera and Kengo Kuma’s sculptural Chokkura Plaza in Japan.

‘Stone’ is available for purchase on Phaidon’s website for $49 USD. In related stories, take a look at these 15 design pieces to upgrade your home.
