Nike Dresses Air Force 1 High, Low in Autumn-Ready GORE-TEX
Weatherproofing two classic silhouettes.
GORE-TEX is one of HYPEBEAST’s preferred all-weather textiles, equally suited to layering pieces and footwear alike. For Fall 2019, Nike grants its classic silhouettes the GORE-TEX treatment, yielding two distinctive, weatherproof Air Force models.
The Swoosh hasn’t utilized GORE-TEX since Spring 2019’s ACG collection — Converse aside — making this a return to form of sorts. The taller Air Force 1 is designed under Nike Sportswear’s “THE10th” sub-label, yielding a variety of technical utility-driven details.
Key to the high-top AF1 is a white zippered bootie that enshrouds the upper, made adjustable by a heel pull tab. A tonal full-grain leather covers the GORE-TEX lining, completed by embroidered black branding and matching icy Swoosh and outsole. Meanwhile, its low-top counterpart is comparitively conventional, with panels of olive ballistic nylon and grain leather granting the shoe a rugged look. A gum outsole complements the earthy tones above.
Both Air Force 1 will hit Nike’s site in the upcoming weeks — Nike hints that the shoes will drop sometimes between October and December.
Recently, A$AP Rocky showcased the forthcoming Cactus Plant Flea Market Air Force 1 collaboration.
