Lil Dude & Xanman Offer Thug-Love Flip of Bow Wow's "Let Me Hold You"
The DMV rappers are back at it with a new “G Mix.”
Fast-rising DMV rappers Lil Dude and Xanman have teamed up for a new track entitled “Let Me Hold You (G Mix),” further releasing a music video to commemorate the cut. Clearly an ode to Bow Wow’s “Let Me Hold You” featuring Omarion, the new track utilizes the Jermaine Dupri and No I.D.-produced beat, which samples Luther Vandross’ “If Only for One Night.” Adding in some DMV thug-love flavor, Lil Dude and Xanman aptly rap out there bars over the instrumental, spinning the mid-2000s classic into a modern-day hit.
Clocking in at just over 2-minutes, the Moshpit DMV-directed music video sees both rappers in their DMV studio, with various neon lights highlighting their presence, with various glitch-edit effects placed throughout. Xanman also describes his dance in the clip. This isn’t the first time the pair has spun hip-hop classics — over the past year they’ve also offered up their spin on 50 Cent’s “Many Men (Wish Death) and Lauryn Hill’s “Doo-Wop (That Thing).”
