KITH has teamed up with Def Jam Records to release a collaborative capsule celebrating the storied music label’s 35th anniversary. The collection includes co-branded Williams hoodies in black and gray, along with two short-sleeved tees.
The cornerstone of the lineup includes a resurgence of Def Jam’s iconic varsity jacket, which made an appearance on the runway during KITH’s 2019 Fall/Winter collection at NYFW. Originally conceived by founder Rick Rubin, the jacket was only given to employees and artists and unavailable for sale to the public. KITH and Def Jam worked with sportswear specialists Golden Bear to create a premium version of the varsity, while drawing inspiration from the initial design and the company’s notable logo. Crafted with a wool body and leather sleeves, the all black outerwear features a chenille Def Jam emblem on the back and chainstitched embroidery on the front.
The collection is expected to drop on Monday, Sept. 16 at Kith.com and in-stores with prices ranging from $65-$675 USD.
