Bamford London Celebrates 90 Years of 'Popeye' With Limited-to-50 GMT Watch
Featuring a fitting Navy-Indebted colorway.

Bamford London is celebrating the 90th anniversary of Popeye with the release of a new collaborative watch. The watch is made alongside the cartoon’s owner King Features, which has graced Bamford London’s GMT model with Popeye motifs throughout its design.
Channeling the nautical theme synonymous with Popeye, the duo have given this limited-to-50 piece a navy and white colorway that commemorates the cartoon’s original story, which sees the protagonist join the Coast Guard in 1937 after his stint in the Navy.
Its playful appearance is complemented by a bevy of high-end timepiece features, such as a Swiss-made automatic Sellita SW330-1 movement and a 24-hour GMT hand function. The hands themselves play on Popeye‘s iconic “tough-guy” muscles, while the center of the dial features a colorful, traditional depiction of the cartoon hero himself.
The case is made from stainless steel and houses a sapphire crystal glass face, while the back of the watch sports an etched Popeye motif which further celebrates its 90th anniversary. Take a look at the King Features x Bamford London GMT ‘Popeye’ watch in the gallery above and pick up one for yourself online or via its global stockists for £1,500 GBP (approx. $1870 USD).
