Converse Addict keeps the premium footwear drops coming, following its SS19 Jack Purcell from back in March with an N.HOOLYWOOD-designed pair of black Chuck Taylors lined with weatherproof GORE-TEX. Based in Japan, Converse Addict is a division of Converse that tweaks its sneakers with long-lasting materials, elevating a bevy of iconic silhouettes.
From its water-repellent laces to articulated rubber toe cap and 1960s-style heel label, this particular piece is made up of a series of parts that nod to features found in Chuck Taylor sneakers from the 1960s, with graphics that nod to N.HOOLYWOOD’s military influences. The tongue is emblazoned with a series of style codes over a clean canvas base, contrasted against lush suede fabrics along the main body. Tonal “GORE-TEX” branding is stamped on the medial side, complemented by bold white lettering at the heel. The sneaker also packs a detachable EVA cup insole that’s both lightweight and well-cushioned thanks to PORON® cushioning. As a finishing note, the shoe sees a tonal midsole, rounded off with its essential Vibram sole.
The Converse Addict Chuck Taylor GORE-TEX NH OX will be available in November at Converse Japan’s website for $260 USD.
