BMW Drops Limited Edition Makeovers for the i3 and i8 PHEVs
The i3 Edition RoadStyle and i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition.

Heading towards an elevation of its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle line, BMW has just unveiled the latest limited edition makeovers for its i3 and i8 PHEVs. The new designs largely swap out the originally futuristic and typical “electric car” look with a more elegant and luxurious aesthetic.
The new i3 Edition RoadStyle sees the traditional blues and silvers swapped out for a bespoke “Fluid Black” exterior detailed with E-Copper trims. The sleek body then sits on four Jet Black 20-inch double-spoke wheels constructed with lightweight alloy, exclusive only to these limited editions. The interior also received a makeover, with Dalbergia Brown natural leather and Dark Oak matte-finished wood trim, accompanied with “Edition RoadStyle” emblazoned on the headrests.
The i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition also received a similar makeover, with a Sophisto Grey metallic exterior leading to the rear inlay that’s finished in high-gloss black. The body is also graced with E-Copper highlights around the kidney grille inserts, side skirting, and 20-inch radial-spoke wheels.
BMW has not upgraded the performance of the two PHEVs at this time, but the aesthetic upgrades nonetheless make for an elegant and exclusive ride. The company hasn’t released any official information on pricing yet, but the i3 Edition RoadStyle will be limited to 900 units only, whereas the i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition will be even more exclusive at 200 units worldwide. Those interested should definitely stay tuned for more news to come.
