Rick Owens' Dégradé Leather Trainers Lend a Vintage Touch
Tattered threads give the style a frayed look.

Rick Owens recently upped the ante on the traditional black suit by applying a colorblocked dégradé technique, and the designer has now given the same vintage touch to his distressed leather trainers. The newest release of the frayed model features an ombré design along the upper, which transitions between white, black and silver for a touch of metallic.
Hand-crafted in Italy, the sneakers are printed differently along the left and right shoes to lend a mismatched effect. Black suede overlays are featured on the toe cap and lace keeper, while the heels of each foot alternate between leather panels in black and white. The midsole is constructed with an angular shape for a geometric look, while the tattered threads are applied from front to back for a worn-in aesthetic.
Rick Owens’ Vintage Leather Trainers retail for £630 GBP (approximately $760 USD) and are available now from MATCHESFASHION.com.
Elsewhere, the label is gearing up for fall with a hefty, reversible shearling coat.
