Complete 'Pokémon' Card Collection Nabs $100,000 USD at Auction
Including ultra-rare 1st edition Charizard.

As TMZ Sports reports, a complete set of Pokémon trading cards from 1999 have sold for a record six-figure sum. Pre-2000 Pokémon cards have proven to be a hot commodity this year, but this particular collection is extremely desirable, comprising over 100 mint-condition cards.
This past weekend, Goldin Auctions sold the entire set for $107,010 USD following a dozen bids. The 103 pieces were each graded Gem Mint 10 by the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), meaning that they’re essentially untouched. Key to the entire collection is the first-edition Charizard, which recently sold on its own for over $55,000 USD. The factor behind this model’s desirability is primarily in its condition — pristine considering its twenty years of age.

Most recently, BEAMS introduced an entire capsule collection inspired by the Pokémon trading card game.
