LA-based brand Ok, Ballet‘s Fall/Winter 2019 collection puts a dark twist on a nostalgic circus theme. The fantastical collection features old-fashioned clown graphics, oversized polka dots and mystic references sprinkled in with logo-heavy pieces. “Elements of the otherworldly allure us – the circus, mysticism, magic, and fantasy were focal to this collection,” says accomplished photographer and Ok, Ballet designer Alex Bortz of the collection’s inspiration.

Key pieces in the collection include two black and white short-sleeve button-up shirts, one emblazoned with clown graphics and phrases like “showtime” and “round the clock,” and the other featuring polka dots of various sizes. A black hoodie and T-shirt sport a smoking moon face with the Ok, Ballet logo cleverly emerging from the smoke, while a red sweater, red T-shirt and black crewneck take a simpler approach to displaying the brand’s name.

Mysticism also makes an appearance in the form of a weathered black hoodie and T-shirt with “Ballet Spiritual Camp” written on the front and “searching for cosmic comfort” sprawled across the back. An enlarged hearts and spades print plays off of the polka dot pattern, making an appearance on both a black cardigan and a tall yellow clown hat with a pom-pom at the top. A white T-shirt with a colorful airbrushed clown and elephant graphic ties the collection together while adding a bit of nostalgia to the range.

The collection will release Thursday Sep 5 at Union Los Angeles and online on Sep 6.

Elsewhere in fashion, London-based record label The Trilogy Tapes has also released its Fall/Winter 2019 lookbook.
