Following the success of The Haunting of Hill House, Netflix is introducing a new French-language horror series called Marianne in this new trailer. In the footage above we are introduced to a novelist who writes terrifying books in order to protect herself from a witch she met as a child whose shadowed her throughout her life.
At some point, the novelist realizes her made-up stories are becoming true and she returns to her hometown to face her old demons. It also appears that this demonic presence takes the form of an elderly woman named Marianne who “always gets what she wants” and “always keeps [her] promise.”
Marianne will debut on Netflix September 12 just in time for the Halloween season.
In other entertainment news, a director’s cut of Ari Aster’s MIDSOMMAR is coming to theaters this weekend.
