Disney Shares First Full Trailer for 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil'
Michelle Pfeiffer takes on the role of the new queen.
Disney has been keeping its fans very, very happy as of late, having just released the first teaser for its live-action adaption of Mulan to now sharing the first full-length trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
Earlier this year, we were given a sneak peek at the forthcoming sequel, which sees Angelina Jolie returning as the “evil fairy” and Elle Fanning reprising her role as Princess Aurora. Mistress of Evil will see Jolie pit up against Michelle Pfeiffer, who portrays the kingdom’s new ruler, Queen Ingrith. Disney states that the sequel will follow several years after the events of the original as Maleficent and Princess Aurora “form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”
Along with welcoming Pfeiffer to the franchise, another newcomer includes Harris Dickinson as Prince Phillip, who replaces Brenton Thwaites in the role.
Look for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil to hit theaters on October 18. Maleficent debuted five years prior in 2014.
