Wale Drops New Boom-Bap Infused Track "Daylight"
Off his upcoming sixth studio LP.
Last year, we heard rapper Wale in his 5-track EP Free Lunch, featuring appearances from J. Cole. The D.C. rapper has now returned with his latest song titled “Daylight.”
With more singles to be set underway, “Daylight” comes off his upcoming sixth studio album. Ahead of the upcoming LP, the song’s cover art is pasted with the words “My album finished I’m just out here playin’” over a red check mark. The track is laced with rhythmic retro-influenced beats set at mid-tempo as Wale reveals some of his insecurities in bars tinged with lyrical wordplay and vivid imagery. The beat also comes with the sound of clanging chimes and light guitars, courtesy of production by Thelonious Martin.
The new track measures at approximately 1:56 minutes and comes with an official lyric video set above.
