Featured silhouettes include the HUNTER and MARINER Sandal. A recurring motif that’s repeated on both molds is the premium suede fabrication, layered over the straps and neoprene panels, a signature design cue within nonnative’s aesthetic language. The HUNTER SANDAL comes equipped with a front toe loop and main strap, secured with buckle fastening. Crescent-shaped cushioning is placed just below the instep for added comfort, while textured mesh is placed under the bridge strap for anti-abrasive contact. The MARINER SANDAL features a thinner V strap with an adjustable fastener. Insole cushioning and embossed Suicoke branding are added as finishing notes to the footwear piece. Both silhouettes come painted in black and desert beige, equipped with thick VIBRAM® sole units.
Headed by nonnative designer Takayuki Fujii, inspirations came from the style changes that followed after he moved out to the beach two years ago. The silhouettes were created out of a desire to make an espadrille that a person could wear socks with – the results take form in progressive leather-tinged sandals that could easily be worn to the beach as well as the city.
