Nike Drops Air Force 1 & Air Edge 270 "NY vs NY" Streetball Pack
Complete with “Orange Peel” accents.
Nike is celebrating the 2nd annual NY vs NY basketball tournament with the limited-edition release of an Air Force 1 ‘07 LV8 and an Air Edge 270. Both sneakers are adorned with numerous tributes to the tournament, from screen-printed logos to printed insoles and themed tongue tags.
The NY vs NY event is a streetball tournament which pits those from boroughs throughout New York against each other to battle it out on the court. A few major games include the Dyckman Park game, which will be held on July 30, as well as yesterday’s Watson Park in the Bronx.
Nike’s Air Force 1 is wrapped in subtly-cracked white leather and features a black leather heel tab, “NY vs NY” tongue tabs, “NY” lace locks and a contrasting “Orange Peel” outsole. White and black laces bring the sneaker together, while an orange section on the heel gives the Air Force 1’s upper an element of contrast.
The Nike Air Edge 270 is one of the Swoosh’s newest big-Air unit silhouettes and combines black leather with “Orange Peel” mesh for its mid-top-cut upper. A white sole unit is contrasted by the sneaker’s signature exposed Air sole unit, which is finished in the NY vs NY pack’s “Orange Peel” colorway with black speckles. Rounding off the design is a littering of 3M dots on the sneaker’s upper and a screen-printed “NY vs NY” logo.
The Air Force 1 is priced at $100 USD and the Air Edge 270 is priced at $160 USD. Pick both pairs up from Nike.com now.
In other news, Nike is reviving its ’90s Air Ghost Racer in a stealthy “Black/Grey” colorway.
