JULIUS' SS20 [ Afangar; ] Collection Is a Reflection of the Relationship Between Humans & Nature
Dominated by muted tones.

For Spring/Summer 2020, JULIUS looked to investigate the present collision of humans and nature in the chaotic ecosystem of the present. Dubbed [ Afangar; ] or “hybrid” in Malagasy, the Austronesian national language of Madagascar, the seasonal range is focused around the complex connection which sees humans and nature influence and regulate one another.
Fabrics utilized throughout the collection have been chosen to express the disorderly and organic elements of nature in muted tones that reference the colors of tree bark, mud, and weathered rocks. The billowy minimalist design of garments create silhouettes which contort and mold the human form to create abstract creations found in organic structures. The footwear which rounds up the collection displays the gradation of the hues of clay and centered around thick chunky soles which perfectly represent the connection between humans and the nature of the world around us.
