Following its recent Ocean 72 project with Bracenet to create sneakers using recycled ocean plastic, sneaker brand KangaROOS has once again teamed up with another organization to make an impact on the world with their sneakers. The German brand has teamed up with EARTH Water this time, a Dutch non-profit organization that donates 100% of its net profits from selling its bottled water towards building fountains for communities without access to clean water sources.
Working together, KangaROOS is releasing a limited edition Ultimate OG “Africa” featuring an upper made from yellow and purple suede and textile panels, with a distinct tribal pattern by the midfoot. The shoes are handmade by a team of local experts, career changers and refugees in the region near the KangaROOS headquarters in Pirmasens, and part of the revenue from its sales will go towards financing clean water sources to support communities in Cameroon without clear drinking water.
For those interested, the EARTH Water x KangaROOS Ultimate OG “Africa” will be available on July 6, and will retail for €270 EUR, or roughly $308 USD.
