A New Preview for the Highly-Anticipated 'Dr. Stone' Anime Has Surfaced
The acclaimed manga is finally getting an adaptation.
Already taking the manga community by storm, the anime adaptation of Dr. Stone is approaching and Toho Animation has released a new trailer. The footage showcased above features the series’ opening theme “Good Morning World” Japan-based rock group Burnout Syndromes, as well as some scenes introducing the series’ plot and setting.
The franchise begins following two boys as they attempt to save a world whose citizens have been completely petrified in stone. However, a conflict between the boys brews when others begin emerging from their stone prisons.
The plot reads as follows:
“Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon that turns all of humanity to stone, the extraordinarily intelligent, science-driven boy, Senku Ishigami, awakens. Facing a world of stone and the total collapse of civilization, Senku makes up his mind to use science to rebuild the world. Starting with his super strong childhood friend Taiju Oki, who awakened at the same time, they will begin to rebuild civilization from nothing… Depicting two million years of scientific history from the Stone Age to present day, the unprecedented crafting adventure story is about to begin!”
The series is expected to be a hit among the new releases of anime this summer and is poised to make its season one premiere this year at Crunchyroll‘s presentation at Anime Expo on July 4 at 12 pm PT.
