Brain Dead has entered into new territory with its first foray into eyewear. The first delivery of the Spring/Summer 2019 eyewear capsule, entitled “Post Modern Primitive Eye Protection,” carries forth with the imprint’s unique approach to retrofuturistic aesthetics that are inspired by punk, comics, and skateboarding. The three styles the brand has launched are the Tani, Elia, and Chibi models, all of which utilize thick cellulose acetate frames that are eco-friendly and bio-degradable.
The first of the released colorways include the Tani in Electric Blue, the Elia in a Silver Flake finish, and the Chibi in classic Tortoise. All models feature sturdy and durable zinc-free barrel hinges as well as optical-quality nylon lenses that utilize 100% UV protection, and come with a custom Brain Dead case and cleaning cloth.
