Benny the Butcher Announces 'The Plugs I Met' EP, Drops "18 Wheeler" with Pusha T
“The streets have been waiting on this record! Long overdue!”
Following up last November’s Tana Talk 3 LP, Griselda Records lyricist Benny the Butcher is introducing his next studio project by debuting its lead single with Pusha T, “18 Wheeler.” Produced by DJ Shay, “18 Wheeler” is one of six new songs featured on Benny’s forthcoming The Plugs I Met EP and serves as our first taste of that release, which will also feature collaborations with Jadakiss, Conway, RJ Payne, Alchemist, 38 Spesh and Daringer. As you can probably tell just by reading the name of Benny’s latest record and the artists involved, this track is the 2019 theme song for road-running narcotics traffickers everywhere.
“The streets have been waiting on this record! Long overdue!” Benny the Butcher shares in an official statement. “I’m talking my talk, Push talking his talk. I couldn’t do this project without reaching out to Pusha.”
“The anticipation for this project is crazy. I came out with Tana Talk 3 and it’s a classic and everybody wants to see what I am going to do next,” Benny adds, opening up to Complex about his next major release. “People are on my d*ck, you can bet that. It’s like they are pitting me against myself. People are waiting to see if I will fail, or if I will succeed. Trust me, I delivered with Plugs I Met; I took my time with it. It’s f*cking crazy!”
You can stream Benny the Butcher and Pusha T’s new The Plugs I Met single above, while the EP itself is scheduled to see release on June 21.
