1017 ALYX 9SM SS20 Is a Technical Tour de Force

1017 ALYX 9SM delivers another remarkably consistent selection of functionally-driven looks in line with founder Matthew M Williams‘ predilection for futuristic garments. High-tech layering pieces co-mingle with Williams’ famed rollercoaster buckle throughout the co-ed runway presentation.
While women’s looks include slinky black dresses, cycling shorts and zippered skirts, the menswear offerings do share some key detailing with the feminine items. Trim suiting, tapered trousers, militaristic vests and a series of adjustable layered cowls accent items across the board, with sleek mac coats and layered trench coats lending the more technical styling a touch of sophistication. Leather handbags, waist bags and backpacks are all toted by hand, allowing the statement pieces to do the talking — these include a series of leather coats and blazers, ribbed jumpsuits and sleek slacks with zip-off knees.
Following Williams’ latest Nike sneaker team-up, the designer rejoins the sportswear company for more thematic footwear, juxtaposing a weighty runner amidst the leather mules, chainlink loafers and peep-toe heels. The shoe sports an all-white upper, complete with a Swoosh on the toe. Along with panels near the front and the medial side, the Swoosh sports 3M detailing for extra visual impact.
