Saint JHN Uses Music to Tell Stories
He also talks about his fashion line and being raised in two countries.
For the latest entry in our Conversations With interview series, HYPEBEAST linked up with Saint JHN to discuss living within two different continents and cultures, his debut album Collection One and his fashion line Christian Sex Club.
The Brooklyn-based rapper has been one of the most exciting artists to come out in recent years, catching the eye of Kareem “Biggs” Burke, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, and later on signing to Biggs’ Circle of Success Management Company. Collection One was a huge stepping stone for JHN, jumping from budding upstart to a possible future star.
“I think its a fantastic body of work, well I made it right? so I’m biased,” he explains about his debut album. “But I try to listen objectively to my music and when I listen to it, it covers the span of the seasons, it’s an entire body of work. You can listen to it through and through.”
Since breaking out with “Roses” back in 2016, Saint Jhn has seen his stock steadily rise with each new song. His 13-song LP, which only features one guest appearance, Janelle Kroll, was one of the most solid projects of 2018. Most recently, he released “TRAP” featuring Lil Baby, a single off his forthcoming Ghetto Lenny Love Songs album.
