NUBIAN Announces MAINS Pop-Up This Weekend in Tokyo
Featuring an exclusive nylon flight jacket.
Last year, Skepta‘s label Mains hosted a pop-up in London that was only held for a period of one day. But those who missed out then are now in luck; The Tokyo-based retailer NUBIAN has announced that its space will be filled with an expansive range of MAINS garments this weekend.
The pop-up will host a bevy of garments from MAINS’ previous drops as well as the latest collection titled “Voyage.” As seen in an earlier installment dubbed “Dystopia,” various items like tracksuits, T-shirts, extended-collar long-sleeves, tactical vests, sweatpants, hats, raincoats and hoodies are clad in neon lime and pink accents over a bed of black textiles. The latest “Voyage” collection, however, includes some new colors — One tracksuit is detailed in a red houndstooth pattern with dashes of white placed throughout. The letter “M” is printed in a serif typeface over the white areas to denote the imprint. Other pieces like the nylon pilot’s helmet, with the label’s “∴” logo, and a slew of graphic tees bring home the collection’s concept of “voyaging.”
One standout piece is an exclusive black nylon flight jacket that holds a subtle sheen. The collar is made up of tonal fleece, while the middle is lined with silver-toned hardware zippers to match with the snap buttons on the front pockets. “MAINS” is emblazoned at the back over the yoke in reflective fabric. As a finishing touch, quilted stitching lines the inside as ribbed cuffs and hem roundup the designs of the jacket.
As the first and only store in Asia to launch MAINS, the collection will be available at NUBIAN’s website, with the exception of the nylon flight jacket to be sold in-store only. Scroll below to see NUBIAN’s address — the MAINS pop-up will run from May 18 – 19.
