Nobody Debuts Tripped-Out New Video for "Smash Yr Radio" Daiana Feuer
“I’m channeling 90’s Tortoise; Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and DJ Shadow.”
Later this week, LA beat-scene icon Nobody will release a new studio album known as All Too Familiar. In support of that project’s arrival, the underground hero is serving up a Daiana Feuer-directed video for one of All Too Familiar‘s standout compositions, “Smash Yr Radio.”
“All Too Familiar is an ode to the music I loved in my college years – a combination of indie rock, alternative rock and early beat music which was tagged ‘trip-hop’ back then. My intention was to make a beat album that sounds like it was sampled from my college record collection,” Nobody tells us, opening up about his forthcoming full-length and his latest visual. “‘Smash Yr Radio’ is one my favorites on the record and purposely wears its influences on its sleeve. I’m channeling 90’s Tortoise; Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and DJ Shadow on the track, creating a vibe that would have mixed in perfectly on my old college show. For the video, I gave Daiana Feuer free reign to interpret the track as she felt inspired to do. The only direction I gave her is that I wanted it to feel like the 90’s without directly referencing anything from that era. I love the video so much and she nailed it.”
