Nike Unveils Japanese-Inspired Vapor Street PEG Silhouette
Featuring a Lunarlon sole unit and Kanji graphics.

Nike has unveiled its latest archive-inspired hybrid sneaker for Spring/Summer 2019, the Vapor Street PEG. The Swoosh’s latest race-ready sneaker takes its inspiration from the vintage Air Pegasus running silhouette as well as modern track sneakers such as the Vapor Street Flyknit.
The Vapor Street PEG is designed to honor its heritage as an accessible training shoe for everyone. Nike gave the PEG a Lunarlon sole system modeled on the Vapor Street Flyknit’s React unit, which provides a balance between casual comfort and performance-focused support.
Nike is set to release two colorways in the coming days, seeing “Plum Dust” and “Cargo Khaki” adorn its water-resistant synthetic upper. The upper is taped to deliver a uni-piece aesthetic, which adds to the sneaker’s construction by providing a faux toe cap and heel wrap. Both shoes are finished with a number of Japanese and Gyakusou-inspired design details, such as Kanji graphics printed onto the cork insoles and a Japanese sun graphic printed in contrasting orange hues.
Both pairs will release on May 21 at 3 PM for $160 USD at Nike.com and select Nike stockists.
